SEEBIB  This is the annotated and selected bibliography on the
entire family.

SEEREF   A listing of general reference sources that include
short listings, articles, etc. on each person. It is a selected
listing.

SEEBOK   Only three entries here, including a biography of Pete
and Ruth and a paper on Charles.

SEEBOM  A listing of selected sources that might be valuable to
someone doing research on any of the Seegers, although most of
these sources do not deal directly with any of them.

Comments: It is surprising that a complete biography has not yet
been written on Charles Seeger. Although he is recognized as a
major figure in American music, the only sources for research are
a collection of scattered articles.  The situation for Elizabeth
Cotten is much worse.  Almost no information at all exists on
her, including a death date.  As of 1988, it can only be presumed
that she is still living, and if this is the case, there is a
major source of American folklore and music essentially lost
somewhere in this country.  It is difficult to think of a single
other family that has contributed more to American music than the
Seegers.  May their legacy live on.
