Charles Seeger - note on files

SECCMP   A listing of the few extant compositions by Charles. He
gave up composition almost completely around 1920. Most of what
he composed before then was destroyed in a fire at Berkeley in
1923. This list from Studies in Musicology, 1935-1975.
  
SECWRI   The largest entry in this study, Charles wrote over 100
papers and articles. This list is from Studies in Musicology.

SECARL   Article list taken from the Core and Gaume biblographies.

SECDIS  A short listing of dissertations and papers dealing
directly with Charles.  This list is probably incomplete.

SECBOM and SECREF  A listing of selected sources that might be valuable to
someone doing research on any of the Seegers, although most of
these sources do not deal directly with any of them.

Comments: It is surprising that a complete biography has not yet
been written on Charles Seeger. Although he is recognized as a
major figure in American music, the only sources for research are
a collection of scattered articles.
