The majority of information presented in these files was either taken

directly from or had root in the Harris biography by Dan Stehman. Very

little has been written about Harris since his heyday of the 1930s and 40s,

therefore most of the sources presented here are rather dated.



I feel the works list and the discography are both virtually complete.

While there were many recordings of Harris' music made in the 30s and 40s,

I have not included them in the discography as they are unavailable and/or

out of print, never having been reissued on either LPs or CDs. Likewise,

much of Harris' works have not been published.



While the general bibliography file contains multiple entries, most of the

information is simply a rehashing of the same material.



Once completed and fully cataloged the Roy Harris Archive at Cal. State

should bring more information to the surface. For now I believe what is

presented here to be essentially complete.
